Upscale Rummage has now reopened after the building water damage.  Come and help us raise money by staffing the store on September 25.  All monies raised will be distributed to A Safe Place, The Haven and Alpha Chi Omega Foundation.

Upscale Rummage is a not-for-profit (501c3) resale shop located in Libertyville, Illinois. Started by Renee Baldwin (Alpha Chi Omega, Indiana University)  in 1999, Upscale Rummage exists solely to help others. All proceeds from the shop go to local non-profits throughout Lake and Cook County. In addition to monetary funds, beneficiary organizations receive goods and supplies to further help the communities they serve. And through its Sharing Saturdays program, Upscale Rummage is proud to support child and animal welfare groups, music and sports programs, the arts and education, and the many organizations that serve adults with disabilities.

WHAT DO WE DO - Upscale Rummage assists those who need someone to believe in them and the dreams they have for themselves and their families. Refugee families, people affected by house fires, medical emergencies, incarceration, job loss, and homelessness are served outright by Upscale Rummage, giving them what they need to get back on their feet.  Upscale Rummage is helping the planet by keeping items out of landfills.

HOW FAMILIES FIND US - Families are generally referred to us through their sponsoring organization, Mother’s Trust Foundation, Catholic Charities, La Casa, etc. We try to fill their immediate needs with beds, clothing, pots and pans, and even toys for the kids. Families shop at Upscale Rummage, and their needs are met in a very dignified, private manner.

In addition to reselling items in the shop to give them a second life, Upscale Rummage partners with others who take our sleeping bags and blankets to the homeless, our towels to pet rescues, and send books, clothing, and shoes to other countries. If we can’t find a home for it, it will be recycled whenever possible.
